How much does it cost to run?
The exact cost will vary by location and mat size. On average, each mat costs $0.90 per snow day.
What happens to the water when the snow melts?
Running the mats during snowfall will prevent accumulation, however any water will run off into surrounding snow or evaporate shortly. HeatTrak mats are made of non-slip treading.
Do I turn the mat on before it snows or after it melts?
The mats melt 2 inches per hour; It's recommend to turn them on during snowfall to prevent any wait.
Do I leave the mats on all the time?
The mats only need to be on during or after snowfall.
